Supplemental Education Services (SES)

The US DOE has published 250,000 posters and brochures promoting Supplemental Education Services (SES) through No Child Left Behind. The purpose of the posters and brochures are to inform parents about free tutoring opportunities that may be available to their children. An exciting element of this outreach is that the posters and brochures are free of charge and are available in both English and Spanish.

Under No Child Left Behind, students who are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch and go to Title I schools that have been placed on the state’s “in need of improvement” list for two or more years are eligible to receive free tutoring or “supplemental educational services.”

Many parents do not know about the availability of these services.
